Free Lesson: Cash Runway

Protect operating cash by separating weekly bills, fuel, maintenance reserve, taxes, and invoice timing.

Free Lesson: Cash Runway
Lesson 3 / Cash control

Cash runway is the number that tells you how long the business can stay calm when money arrives late, fuel jumps, or the truck sits. It matters because a broke business makes rushed decisions.

The rule

Do not treat the bank balance as profit. Divide cash into operating money, tax reserve, maintenance reserve, insurance/filing money, and owner draw. If those are mixed together, the business will eventually lie to you.

Invoice timingKnow which loads are billed, which are factored, which are disputed, and which are late.
Reserve timingMove maintenance and tax reserve on a schedule, not only after a strong week.
Decision timingUse runway to decide whether to hold for better freight or protect cash with a safer move.

Do this this week

  1. List every bill due in the next 30 days.
  2. List every invoice expected in the next 30 days.
  3. Mark which invoices are uncertain or disputed.
  4. Decide your minimum cash cushion before owner draw.
Course standard: cash runway is not fear. It is the number that lets you negotiate without panic.

The Business Kit includes invoice tracking and reserve templates. The full Lab teaches the weekly review rhythm around them.
